Dawn

Whirl lay back on his ledge, over-looking the cave. He was glad some cats had come, but they needed more in order for the tribe to become a success again. Feeling like he needed some fresh air, he got up and slunk out the entrance. The warm, spring air played gently against his whiskers, and he sighed happily. Surely Shine had sent him this wonderful weather on purpose.

As Whirl climbed to his favorite look-out spot, he saw a figure moving slowly through the tall grass. He quickly leaped down and scurried to the shape. Hiding himself in a thicket, Whirl peeked out. He saw a slender, tortoise-shell she-cat moving slowly along. She must be very hungry. Whirl observed her ribs and how slowly she was moving. You could only find prey around here if you knew where to look.

Whirl stepped out, startling the she-cat."Please!" She yowled in despair."Just kill me! I can't live!" Whirl chuckled lightly."What are you talking about? I'm not going to h hurt you." She stared in disbelief, but realized it didn't matter."What do you want?" Whirl sat down and licked his paw."I was going to help you. There is prey back at my tribe?" The she-cat's eyes gleamed suddenly, not even bothering to ask what a tribe was.

"Would you like to join us?" He said, knowing he had her hooked."Yes, yes I do! Take me there!" The she-cat urged him. Whirl nodded and brushed through the grass.

~~~
"All tribe members gather!" Whirl called, back on his ledge. The others gathered as the she-cat tore into a thrush."We have another cat joining us." He looked at her again."She will be a Hunter, and her name is to be," The she-cat looked up."My name's Dawn." Whirl nodded."However, now the full extension is Dawn of many colors." She nodded, accepting the name."That will be all." Whirl bounded down."Moon, please show Dawn where to hunt."
First Cats
Whirl looked around. A moon had passed, yet no one had stumbled upon them. Star and Spark needed to become to-be's, but there was nobody to train them."Dad! Dad- er, Whirl!" Spark skidded into the cave. Whirl stood up."What is it?" Spark caught his breath."There is a group of cats outside! They look so hungry and lost." Whirl smiled with excitement."Well then, bring them on in!" He purred. Soon, Spark and Star returned in with four cats behind them.
"Welcome." He smiled to the cats. A ginger she-cat stepped boldly forward."Where are we?" She demanded. Whirl chuckled."Well, my friend, you now see the remains of the Tribe of Whispers. We are rebuilding ourselves. Would you like to join?" The cats looked at each other nervously."Well, I suppose." A black she-cat slowly said after a while."We have no where else to go." Whirl nodded with pleasure.
He thought for a moment, then looked at the ginger she-cat."You seem like an ideal General, what's your name?" The she-cat looked down."I don't have one. We......we forgot our names." Whirl frowned."That's okay, I can give you all new names." He leaped onto the ledge he loved the best."You, your name shall be Amber that glows in the darkest cave. But you may go by Amber." The ginger she-cat nodded."I want you to be my general, second in command." He smiled, and the she-cat sat below him.
"You can be Moon that shines from above." He smiled at the she-cat, and thought he heard the slightest giggle. Probably just my imagination. He thought when the she-cat sat boldly."You can go by Moon. And you seem well built, you can be a CaveGuard." Moon nodded as Whirl moved on to the next cat. The she-cat spoke first."Actually, my name is Fern." She smiled lightly, and Whirl nodded."You may keep that, but you need a full name. How about Fern that sways in the breeze?" Fern nodded eagerly.
"Okay." Whirl studied the she-cats slender body."You will be a Hunter." The she-cat purred."Good! I'm great at hunting!" She sat down, and a smaller brown tom stood up."You remind me of a Hawk." Whirl smiled at the tom."Your name shall be Hawk the soars from above. You will be a To-be." Whirl then looked to his kits."It's time you became To-be's too." Star and Spark gasped with excitement and ran forward."Star, you will train as a Hunter, and be mentored by Fern." Star nodded and went to sit by Fern.
Spark jumped up."Spark, you will train as a CaveGuard, your mentor will be Moon." Spark sat by Moon and touched noses."Hawk, you will train as a CaveGuard from me." Hawk nodded and scrambled up to the ledge."I suppose that is all, let's get to work!"
Introduction
Whirl looked around the tribe happily. Nothing had been so peaceful ever since he became General. He looked to his side to see his mate, a gorgeous golden she-cat named Shine. He nuzzled her as two little kits tumbled at their feet."Behave, you two. Star, stop chasing your brother!" She purred to the small silver she-cat."But Spark started it!" She pointed her tail at the small fiery colored tom.
Whirl purred and licked his kits heads."Listen to your mother." He smiled. Suddenly, rocks began falling from the roof of the cave. There was a low rumbling, and Whirl's stomach churned."That doesn't sound very good." He looked at Shine nervously. She smiled and licked his ears, but a sudden yowl rang against their ears. Whirl looked down to see the small, delicate white and black paw of Running."Evacuate!" He yowled as huge boulders fell from the ceiling.
Shine grabbed Spark, Whirl did the same with Star. The family ran to the exit. As Whirl set Star safely under a tree, he saw Shine drop Spark. She ran back the grab him, the thick clouds of dust getting even thicker. Whirl gasped when he saw a large boulder break free right above their heads."NO!" He began to ran forward. When Shine saw the danger, she threw Spark to Whirl, and attempted to run. She almost broke free, but the boulder pinned her by her legs.
"Shine!" Whirl and the kits ran to the beautiful she-cat as she moaned."I'm okay." She smiled weakly, but then winced."My legs are broken." She looked at the large rock."That's okay. We'll get you out!" Whirl stood up and began to push against the rock as the kits pulled on their mothers paws."No....d-don't" Shine whispered, and Whirl curled up next to her."I'm not leaving." Shine smiled and licked each cat. They all snuggled together as the moon bathed the grass. Whirl realized they were the only survivors. We will survive. He thought with determination. Especially Shine.
As the sun broke into Whirls sleep, he heard the kits crying."What's wrong?" He drew them close to him."Mommy!" Spark whimpered and buried himself into her fur. Whirl turned and shook Shine."Wake up." He purred, then found her body was cold to the touch."No....." He stared in horror and disbelief."No!" The tears burst from his eyes and he buried his nose in her flank. Star and Spark snuggled next to him as they mourned. After much work, they family had gotten her out and gave her a proper burial.
"We will never forget you." Whirl said his last words to the batch of fresh flowers they had laid on the dirt."Come, we must find a new home." He quietly drew Star and Spark away from the burial."We will visit her once a year. Promise?" The kits nodded, and the three roamed the hills.
Whirl woke up one morning. It had been so long, Star and Spark were almost old enough to become To-be's. He woke the young cats, and they blinked at him happily. They were trying to gather themselves together again. As they continued to travel on as they used to, Whirl saw a grey shape through the mist. Out of curiosity, he stepped cautiously forward to investigate. He found that it was a large, comfortable cave. He and his kits slipped into the narrow entrance, and found the many smaller cave linked off of a main dome.
"This is a perfect home!" Whirl smiled, and the kits jumped with excitement. Whirl began exploring even deeper, and found a cave much similar to the old Star Cave."There is even another Star Cave!" He came back out and found a nice perch."We shall rebuild our tribe! We shall be stronger than ever!" He yowled proudly, and the other two cheered."In another moon, I will name you To-be's. Hopefully, a cat in need will come upon us." He came down and nuzzled his kits affectionately.
Light Pond (Mates Page or Anything)
This is a nice clean pond where you can come and swim, play, basically anything. But at night, when the moon hits the water just right, it gleams. It is very romantic.
Sparkle Stream
This a a fresh-water mountain stream that rolls through the hills. It is very pure and cold, perfect water. It leads to the Pond.
Pine Forest
This is a fairly large cluster of pines near the corner of our territory. It is rich with prey all the time, and a great place to hide.
Mountain Border
We use the Mountain Range as a border for our territory. After those clan cats came along, we found it was a good idea.
